Dunyasha is in the service of the rich lady Matrena Kiribityevna. Matryona, greedy and lazy, envies her merry, inquisitive worker in everything. An unkind temper makes Matrena Kiribityevna leave Dunyasha alone in the winter forest to her death ... But then Moroz Ivanovich appears and turns the course of events in an unexpected direction.
